Farmer in court for stabbing man to death

Aliyu Adamu,a 38yr old farmer who was accused of stabbing Nura Isiah to death was remanded by Sokoto Magistrates' Court on Friday.

Inspector Na'allah Jibo,the police prosecutor told the court that Haliru Isiah who stays in 32,Mojiyo Road,Sokoto reported the matter to the Divisional Police headquarters at Kwanni.

He said the report showed that the accused who stays in Kofa Area,Sokoto conspired with two others attacked the deceased with knives on January 1.

He made it clear that the two others who conspired with him are Guti Mohammad and Lukman Soja.

"The accused went to the deceased's shop at Old Market and then stabbed him in the stomach and that the man was rushed to the specialist Hospital at Sokoto,where he was confirmed dead." said the prosecutor.

NAN reports that the accused is facing a two-count charge of criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide punishable under section 97 and 224 of the penal code law.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Mr. Abubakar Adamu,the Magistrate ordered for the remand of the accused in prison custody because the court lacked Jurisdiction to entertain the case.

He made it known that the accused would remain in custidy until the case was properly transferred to the State High Court for hearing
