British-born Nigerian boxer on the verge of being a billionaire

Born of a Nigerian mother, Yeta Odusanya, Anthony Oluwafemi Olaseni Joshua’s exploits in the ring has indeed paved a way for him to stardom. Joshua has never lost a fight since he began his career as a professional boxer.

The 27-year-old former Olympic champion, who came to limelight at London 2012, will fight the legendary Ukrainian Wladimir Klitschko, at the Wembley Arena on Saturday. Apart from earning about £15 million from the fight, there are records that organisers have already sold tickets worth £8 million . In the same vein, 1.5 million Britons are expected to pay £20 to watch on pay-per-view and £20 million more is expected to be generated from international TV revenue.

There are also endorsement from companies worth millions of pounds. Pundits are of the opinion that indeed Anthony Joshua can become first billionaire athlete from Britain with a Nigerian origin.
