[SPORT NEWS] Premier League club launch bid for Liverpool and Man United target: Klopp, Mourinho keen

According to The People newspaper, the Hammers have launched a £2.5m bid for the 17-year-old striker.

Brereton, who joined Forest from Stoke in 2015, was the club's leading scorer at Under-18 level last season.

And he has continued his fine form for the club's Under-23s this term, bagging 17 goals in 21 appearances.

Premier League big boys Liverpool and Manchester United lead the hunt for Brereton.

Jurgen Klopp reportedly got in touch with the Championship club to enquire about his availability.

The Mirror claim the Reds boss made the call via chief scout Barry Hunter to talk through signing the teenager.

And Brereton is on United's radar with a seven-figure bid being considered.

Forest chairman Fawaz Al Hasawi announced on New Year's Eve that the hotshot has put pen to paper on a new contract.

Brereton recently revealed that he is solely focused on breaking into Philippe Montanier's first team.
He said: "I will keep working hard in the Under-23 side, I will keep learning and hopefully I will get the chance to do what Joe Worrall and Matty Cash have done this season.
"I do look at them and think that if they can do it, maybe I can too.
"But the main thing is just to keep working hard and to see where that gets me. That is all I can do."
