[SPORT NEWS] Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic face huge pay cuts if Man United don’t do this

The Sun claim Old Trafford deals are set up so up to 25 per cent of player’s wages are taken away if they fail to qualify for the Champions League.

United players lost a huge chunk of their pay packet this year following last season’s disastrous campaign under Louis van Gaal.
However, summer signings Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic were unaffected by the clauses.

If United - who currently sit sixth in the Premier League - finish in the top four, all the pay cuts will be scrapped.

A United source told the newspaper: “The squad has reductions built in to protect from a drop in revenue.”

United have also revealed that their adidas kit deal will be slashed by 30 per cent should they fail to make the prestigious competition.

The Red Devils could secure Champions League football for next season with a top-four finish or by winning the Europa League this campaign.
